Hammond's Flycatcher
Empidonax hammondii
Synopsis: Nests widely in coniferous and mixed forests mostly west of the Cascades, and more locally in montane pine forests of eastern. Most notable are the records from the central and southern Coast Range, and northern Harney County.

Relative Detectability: Easy to detect by its song, but otherwise difficult to identify and to confirm nesting.

Challenge: Confirm breeding of individuals noted at scattered desert locations during June. Search for additional nests in southern Jackson, southern Klamath, central Deschutes, southern Baker, central Union, and eastern Wallowa Counties.
